Two-day advanced seminar on international extradition and the practice of the European Arrest Warrant.
In 2002, the EU replaced traditional extradition – based upon bilateral treaties – with the European Arrest Warrant (EAW). 13 years later, this international seminar investigates current worldwide developments in extradition law. The seminar will be held on August 29-30 2016 at Worcester College, University of Oxford.
It covers comparative extradition law, typical “lines of argument” to challenge extradition requests, famous extradition cases and unlawful and disguised forms of extradition (such as extraordinary rendition and expulsion of aliens).
An additional visit to legal London will be arranged for those interested.
